Creating, Deleting, and Managing Card Themes
Membership card themes are an important part of a member’s experience with the app. They represent your brand’s style and provide key information about the member’s access and privileges.
An application member always has a card theme assigned, and the dedicated Membership Card page in the app displays the theme for the member
As an admin, you can create as many card themes as you like. To create a new one, simply click the plus icon above the list of existing themes.
The basics of card theme management and the entry card
There must always be at least one card theme in the app, and one of them needs to be set as the entry card theme. New members signing up will automatically be assigned this entry theme.
The entry card theme cannot be deleted, and the delete option will not appear for it in the list. However, you can easily switch which theme is the entry card at any time. If another theme is deleted, all members who had it assigned will be moved over to the entry card theme instead.
If a card theme, except the entry card theme, is deleted, all members with that theme will be shifted to the entry card theme.
Where can you change the card theme? As an admin, you can assign a member a different card theme than the entry card theme, either directly in the list of members or in the detailed view of the specific member. This change of card theme also applies to users pending an approval, so that once they get approved they will have the correct card when they are let in to the logged in sections of the app.
Designing a card theme
Each card theme can be uniquely configured in the detail view of the specific card theme.
Each card theme can be customized in detail. While the design is dynamic and does not allow for complete control of every element’s placement, there are several ways to configure how the card will look.
The design elements of a card theme
The title of the card theme is only for internal referencing and is not displayed in the app to the members
The card benefits section describes the benefits to the members of having the specific card theme.
If this section is left empty, no button to the benefits page will be displayed under the card.
The benefits section can combine benefits the member has access to at your own business or partners accepting your member as a privileged customer and serving them benefits outside of your own business.
The card display is divided into two sides, front and back, and further, the image orientation of each side is divided into two types, Portrait and Landscape, respectively. Admin can customize both front and back as per their preference.
3. The tick boxes decide what information to display on the app's card theme. You can select between “ show member’s name, show Logo, show Photo, Show QR code, Show Year, and Show Role”. The Year is fetched based on the member's date and year of registration. This selection is for each side respectively. Remember not to overpopulate the card look and manage the aesthetics accordingly.
Note: We currently do not display any information for QR codes. We are working on it and will bring more functionality as we update to newer versions.
4. The card text color has two options, dark or light, which controls whether the content on top of the background of the card theme is black or white. The setting should balance the selected background image.
5. The background of the card themes can be either a still image or an animated gif (preferably then something that loops well)
6. The card logo image is most often used to display your brand's logo. Normally a transparent PNG format is used for the best effect on top of the background image (in fact the card logo image can also be a GIF)
7. Also, we allow you to select the color of the text on the card by using the color palette.
8. You also have the option to use the card image as a page background. This means the selected image will not only appear on the card itself, but also extend into the background of the page. It creates a natural frame around the card and gives you an additional design option for a more polished look. (See image below)
Card Theme Preview
With the new Card Theme Preview feature, you can see exactly how a card will appear to members, including the theme name, all selected elements, and how your logo will look on the card. This makes customization smoother and gives you full confidence before publishing the design to your members. To open the preview, click the small phone icon on the right-hand side. If you want to close it again, simply click the minus symbol in the top-right corner of the preview window

If you as an admin want more control of the logo display and placement you can untick the logo in the tick box section, simply not upload a card logo image, and instead have it as an integrated part of the background images. Keep in mind then to verify that other ticked elements don't interfere with the logo display.
