Dynamic Data Collection From Members

How to collect relevant information from members for delivering a better experience

Updated over a month ago

Dynamic data field allows you to collect relevant information from your members. This collected information can further be used to segment user according to their preferences and deliver a better experience whenever necessary.

You can access the Dynamic data settings from the Admin → Members→ Dynamic data tab.

The “+” sign redirects you to a new page where you can create fields for dynamic data.

The label field acts as the title of the information that you would collect. Say, for example, you can have a label name as “favorite food”, “Favorite sports”, “time preference”, “preferred activity”, etc.

Help Text is related to the type of information that you want to collect from the members.

Mandatory is an optional tick, but when ticked, makes it mandatory for the members to fill up the data at various visibility levels assigned to the dynamic fields. If the member already exists, s/he needs to update the information to make any changes to their profile. The mandatory field function is reflected in the profile itself.

Visibility levels is a drop-down menu that provides two options, Profile and On-boarding. Here you get to decide where will the dynamic fields be visible to the members. You can either select both or any of the options depending on your preference. If no visibility level is selected, the created dynamic field sits in the BO only.

Field type helps you decide what kind of dynamic field you wish to create. Do you want to have a text field, numbers, date, a drop-down field, or a checkbox? This can be decided based on the type of question you wish to ask your members.

Suppose, you want an answer to a question like your favorite food, you can have a text field. Similarly, if you want to ask about their time preference for a sports activity, you can have a drop-down menu and if it’s a simple Yes/No choice question, you can have a checkbox field.

Also, If the member already exists, you need to roll out a notification asking them to fill in the required information in the data field. You can redirect them directly to the dynamic field on the profile page.

Below is an example of how the dynamic data fields will appear on profile settings and while on-boarding respectively.

Note: You can change the label, help text, and visibility levels available in an existing dynamic field. However, you can not change the field type. Also, removing the data field will remove the member’s data from the BO.

Viewing existing data from Golf ID

In addition to creating your own fields, you can also view member information that is automatically imported from their Golf ID login. Under Members → Dynamic data, you’ll see data from multiple categories, including:

  • GolfIT ID – unique golfer ID

  • GolfIT First Name – golfer’s first name

  • GolfIT Last Name – golfer’s last name

  • GolfIT Club Name – home club

  • GolfIT Membership Status – current status

  • GolfIT Handicap – current handicap

  • GolfIT Handicap Date – date of last handicap update

  • GolfIT Nationality – nationality
