Menu Shortcuts and Homescreen Shortcuts, both are part of Navigation Settings in the Settings module.
Both shortcuts can include internal and external links to each label. When the user clicks them, these links redirect directly to the provided links.
Also, we have now added a segmentation option, which you can use to select a membership card holder who can view that particular shortcut.
Note: You can customize menu items and home screen items in the three different available languages. Also, you can customize the view based on segmentation according to the card themes assigned
When should you add a page, Event, or location to the Home screen, and when should you add it to Menu Shortcuts?
Homescreen Shortcuts are the first thing your users will see when they open the application. You should add only items that are of maximum attention.
Say, for example, a new latest event in the list or a new page that your users will find valuable.
Also, decide on the priority of items that you wish to show on the home screen shortcuts. Overpopulating them will disrupt the application's UI.
A few tips for setting up Home screen shortcuts:
Add temporary but important events or pages to the home screen shortcut;
Home screen shortcuts are dynamic and you can change them as per the requirements;
Create short titles for Home screen shortcuts as it may disrupt the flow of buttons on the home screen.
For Menu Shortcut:
On the other hand, a Menu Shortcut is scrollable and can have multiple items on the list. It can either stay as is or be changed as per the requirement. Menu shortcuts are more static and can consist of a long list of modules that you want people to navigate to.
If you feel that a particular shortcut item is redundant, either be it in the Home screen or Menu Shortcuts, you can delete it or reuse it by changing the details of the same.
