Menu and Homescreen Shortcuts

This article describes how menu and home screen shortcuts appear on the application

Updated over 7 months ago

In the settings section of the admin panel, you can decide which app home screen shortcuts to display and which menu items to include in the main menu. Note that you cannot edit the menus of the non-logged-in sections of the app.

Main Menu

The main menu (the drawer that expands sideways "on top" of the content) of the app consists of several sections:

  • Icon header including the link to the member profile settings.

  • Menu items can be managed from the settings section of the admin panel.

  • Standard menu items such as About and Terms & Conditions including the logotype of Loialcard. These standard items can not be controlled from the admin panel but are always there.

The menu items can be controlled by adding, deleting, or editing them inside the settings section of the admin panel. They can also be sorted by dragging and dropping.

The Navigation settings provide extensive customization options. You can configure which menu labels are displayed to users based on their selected language and assigned card theme.

Menu Item Language Selection refers to choosing a language and associating a list of menu labels. For example, suppose you select English as the language and define four menu items under it. In that case, these items will appear in the application's side menu navigation whenever English is the selected language.

The Menu Label represents the title of a menu item and is displayed in the language chosen during the configuration process.

Segmentation allows you to tailor the menu listing view for specific cardholders. For example, you can choose the "All" option to make a menu label visible to all users or select multiple cardholders to restrict visibility to those specific groups.

External Link: An external link redirects users to a webpage or resource outside the application when clicked.

Internal Link: An internal link directs users to pages or features that exist within the application.

  • External links and internal links leading to any of the content types set manually by you as an admin get marked with a blue link icon which upon click leads to the link/content for quick navigation and referencing

  • If both options are selected for a menu item, the external link will take precedence over the internal link.

You can delete a menu item if it is no longer needed. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of menu items you can add, as the list screen is scrollable.

If there are too many menu items to be displayed on the screen of the member's phone (keep in mind that phone screens differ in size between members) the menu will become scrollable in the app.

Home-screen Shortcuts

While the functionality of the features accessed through these shortcuts remains the same as that mentioned above, it is important to avoid overcrowding the home screen with too many buttons. Overpopulating the home screen can negatively impact the user experience and disrupt the main page's layout and clarity.
